As you. know, you're describing the difference between an external and an internal locus of control; you found a new way to describe the immense advantages of an internal locus of control. The epiphany was watching the PBR this morning. The thought that developed was of what you call internal locus. The idea of putting into a task the bare minimum of intensity and focus that matches the intensity of the task is selling both short. Imagine the possibilities if everyone that did their tasks with the intensity of a bull rider or big wave surfer...
