Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous.
Standing on the edge of an infinity pool, taking in this scene, tells my brain I’ve climbed to the top of a lot of mountains. It’s harder to convince my heart though.
When I look at this scene, I wonder about all of the souls in all of the houses below. I’ve snapped this image, frozen it in time, and captured what of the humans?
Memories are snapshots to show ourselves, freezing those moments for later. When we go back, like this photo hiding the humans, we hide our souls from ourselves.
Whatever emotion the memory contains is manipulated and manufactured by our our motivations. We control our history only as much as we remember it. And humans want to feel good about remembering their past.
I’m taking this week off, as my life is going 100 mph right now. Stay tuned for some updates in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, take some time to tend to yourself. I am.
Thanks
Ric
