Slaying Familiar Giants * Forging New Alliances *
Let the image above percolate in your consciousness. Imagine the scene on an ancient battlefield, with a towering giant leading an army against a cowering and trembling force unsure of their future. Who can face the giant threatening destruction? Who will stand between them and us? Who understands us? Will faith be enough? Who can we trust? Will we be okay?
What’s your problem, voter?
Here’s a safe space where we can protest and counter-protest at the same time. Take your side and respect mine. Then we be in the Venn Diagram so laughingly lovingly laughed about. Over and over, I pride CSW for slicing it straight down the middle. You know exactly where I stand, yet I present multiple sides. It’s funny to some.
In this post, I will give my take as to why Trump continues to rise in the polls, why his voters love him, and how the mainstream keeps getting it wrong. A willful and complete lack of intellectual honesty is disguised as erudite expertise, and the tired tripe of “messaging” is constantly used to deflect the blame for disastrous policy choices.
We have now definitive answers to those questions above, I think. The screen-shot below is the flailing, desperate, mindless attempts at persuasion. I come at this fully-loaded with logic. Or at least my own logic. It boils down to how people feel. And let’s face it, feelings drive voters. In the industry, guest perception is guest reality. And the feeling from Team Biden is too fucking bad for you. The voter is not appreciative of all the largess the rulers keep telling us about. The cake they’re telling us to eat tastes like shit.
Blaming the voter has become that old joke “I told him, son, what is it with you? Is it ignorance or apathy?” The player then replied, “Coach, I don't know and I don't care!” Literally, the response to the dreadful polls is just that - Is it ignorance or apathy?

Are Dem defectors the 2024 Mugwumps?
Some say this one is like the 1980 contest, and others compare it to the 1968 turmoil. I think this election is very similar to the one that elected the only non-consecutive terms of a president - 1884. Loyal voters of one party - disaffected and angered by party leader indifference to their concerns - left the party and made the difference in Grover Cleveland’s victory 140 years ago.
Mugwump is an Algonquian word for “important person” and if you listen to the interviews of the Bronx residents that attended the rally, they said they felt important. That someone like Trump comes into their neighborhood and listens to them. And actually hears them, and addresses their concerns. He talks about them.
The smell of desperation is a hard sniff. My inbox has been stuffed with that aroma. It’s not a hard thing to see. We are on the verge of a cliff. Both sides. We stand at yet another time in history that we’re forced to choose a path. Not to choose a leader. But to accept one. The division is driven now, are you on board? I stopped counting at 75 in May.
Is Winning the Result? I think so.
The story of David and Goliath has become a metaphor, but is based upon debatable historical fact. It’s Biblical history from the Book of Samuel and has been a go-to for probably millions of halftime rah-rah coach-talks. For good reason. It’s awesome.
Little dude kicks big dude’s ass! Standing proudly at practically 5’3”, this author emphatically takes this story to heart. It has been a source of inspiration for me so many times in my life. From childhood to the C-Suite to prison and beyond!
Look at the discord, discontent, and division. Western Civilization on Earth pitted against Medieval Theocracy. It’s not the first time this has happened. Constantinople comes to mind. Or Jerusalem. History is full of unlikely hero’s.
Watching a Trump rally is like being at a spiritual musical festival. The merch, the food, the security, the music, the party. Attendees have described the atmosphere as electric, magical, friendly. Many plain out said “it was fun!” How many political events in your lifetime have been called fun? Like, zero! See below.
The Bad Orange calls it a Love Fest! NBC News has a photo gallery here. You can say no way, and bury your head in the sand. But this is for real. Everyday people love this man. Working folks - the neglected woman and the forgotten man - are being acknowledged, listened to, and empathized with.
Instead of being called names. Or even worse, being ignored except for every four years. And then being castigated for thinking for themselves. For wanting improvement in their lives. And safety and security. And caring about their communities. Now they’re clowns. For having agency.
100,000 people pack The Jersey Shore for Donald Trump rally. SERIOUSLY?
So why is he so damn popular and indestructible? Why do the attacks multiply? He’s a racist. Blacks and Hispanics love him. He’s anti-Muslim. But Arabs and Muslims hate Joe. How can women vote for The Bad Orange? And young people too giving Uncle Joe the finger?
As I stated at the outset, I’m putting all of the cards on the table face-up. Something the supporters of Biden don’t always do. For instance, the Special Prosecutor in the Hunter Biden case just confirmed that the US Government has verified the laptop and it will be used as evidence in the case against Hunter.
Prosecutors plan to use Hunter Biden's infamous laptop as evidence in an upcoming trial to help them prove that the president's son unlawfully obtained a firearm in 2018.
Special counsel David Weiss wrote Wednesday that "the defendant's laptop is real (it will be introduced as a trial exhibit) and it contains significant evidence of the defendant's guilt."
Remember the censorship in 2020? The 51 “Intelligence” officials and their letter? The pee tape? The impeachments? Indictments? I mean, really?
BuzzFeed is going all out to prove Trump's "pee tape" is real
“If it’s fact, it’s not libel, that’s the idea.”
Oppsie! Even NPR back in the day said WTF.
Here are Clinton's full remarks, per reporter Ruby Cramer at Buzzfeed:
"I know there are only 60 days left to make our case — and don't get complacent, don't see the latest outrageous, offensive, inappropriate comment and think well he's done this time. We are living in a volatile political environment.
"You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? [Laughter/applause]. The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric. Now some of those folks, they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.
"But the other basket, the other basket, and I know because I see friends from all over America here. I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas, as well as you know New York and California. But that other basket of people who are people who feel that government has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they are just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroine, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well."
And more from Captain Obvious
Elitism and generalizations
Clinton's remarks, like Obama's in 2008, smacked of liberal elitism — liberals talking to liberals about a group of people they don't really know or hang out with, but feel free to opine about when talking to each other.
It's always problematic to speak in generalizations, something liberals would be the first ones to point out. At the point in which you hear yourself saying that you might begin talking in "grossly generalistic terms," it's probably best to re-think what's coming next. That's especially true when you don't have data to back up your point.
The biggest problem in Clinton's statement is that she said "half" of Trump supporters are racists, xenophobes and otherwise bigots. Half means equal or near-equal parts. There's no data to support such a specific number.

Trump Leads in 5 Key States, as Young and Nonwhite Voters Express Discontent With Biden
A new set of Times/Siena polls, including one with The Philadelphia Inquirer, reveal an erosion of support for the president among young and nonwhite voters upset about the economy and Gaza.
The biblical warrior Goliath may not have been so giant after all
The width of his home city’s walls were possibly used to metaphorically represent the champion’s height. So maybe Trump isn’t such a powerful force, and this whole illusion of support will collapse. Maybe if convicted. Maybe for something else. But that’s lots of maybes for an incumbent. And there’s a lot of angry voters.
This is great! Thank God for Politico, this is the future of CourtTV. Let’s enjoy. Oh, and I love when our Veep drops the F-Bomb. Yeah, you Go Girl~
They couldn’t find self-reflection if they lived in a house of mirrors.
This period will be so studied by political scientists for decades to come. The abject scorched-earth tactic that has been employed non-stop since the roll-down the gold escalator has never worked(Russia, Russia/Hitler,Hitler), is not currently working(91 indictments+gag order), and appears primed to not work in the future(conviction/fines).
Literally short of putting a bullet into him, what the hell will stop him? And I’m sure that’s been seriously discussed by some Trump haters. What is pumping up Trump. It’s the overwhelming opposition to him. Period. It’s not white grievance. It’s not race related at all. It’s post-racial society in its infancy. Tribes, not colors.
As I wrote in my fourth post here on Substack, it’s tribe not race that divides us. Just as it always has. Self-interest is the major driving force in human nature. Trump understands that and taps into it. Biden and his supporters don’t believe that.
It’s that simple. Trump believes in Americans. Biden believes in government. I’ve put together a montage of clips that illustrate this point. This is not hard folks. I’m in sales. People ask me the secret of selling. It’s the most simple thing ever. I especially love angry customers. They don’t have secrets about you or your service. Just ask and listen.
During a job interview, one of the trio of inquisitors on the Zoom call asked me “Have you ever received immediate, negative feedback and how did you handle it?” I thought a moment, and replied “Have you read my resume?” They all nodded affirmatively when I mentioned that my experience included many years as a line chef.
I then asked if any one of them had ever sent a dish back to the kitchen at a restaurant. Again they all nodded yes. And them it dawned on one of them and she followed up with “How did that make you feel and what did you do?”
Chef Brandon sends the dish back out and tell the patron, tough shit, that’s what I made and that’s what you’ll eat. It’s the best you’ve ever had. And if you disagree with me, you’re a rotten customer. Leave and never come back. Talk about Soup Nazi and Gordon Ramsey’s love child.
By contrast, Chef Orange listens to what the customer didn’t like, and remakes the dish the way the diner tells him to. Listen to the customer. They tell you the problem. Joe forgot the golden rule of retail - whether it’s the corner diner or presidential politics - the customer is always right. I learned that at 16.
For Gen-Xrs, this entire episode is a complete rerun of Saturday morning.
“Right now we have, you know, young black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is,” Gov. Kathy Hochul blabbered into a microphone Monday.
“I’ll tell you what won’t make a difference at all Jake and that’s for Donald Trump to be the ringleader and invite all his clowns to a place like the Bronx,” Hochul said.
This woman has lost two sons in the last three years. She’s a racist?
Well my friends, I’m back. Thank you for reading me, and for subscribing, and just being here.
Enjoy the playlist, and make new friends,

The Kamala piece was pure genius. And the rest of the post rang true. Trump listens.
Tell you one thing, Biden is doing all he can to help. Especially after the Morehouse mess. https://shorturl.at/2v9j6
