I thought I would lead with a picture of my meal last night. It was great! The cookies were a product of a baking day at The Mom’s with The Youngest. The top sirloin was compliments of The Roomie (a new entity in the life).
Sauteed mushrooms and roasted brussels over a bed of steamed white rice finished it off. I ate the cookies first, so I wouldn’t miss out on them by falling asleep.
The Youngest said something so profound that I loved it, and later texted her that it would be the title of the cookbook I will write someday.
We’re not back to normal. This is just baking.
She replied, “Make it a picture book” Fair enough.
It was so much more than that. It was exactly enough. At exactly the right time.
I watched the Little Drummer Boy today, and thought it sends the precise message we need to hear right now.
I watched the Silent Night Story at the link below last night. Again, these stories are, to me, the glue that sticks us together.
