The best thing about having your own newsletter is being able to humble-brag every now and again.
The Wife and I are blessed to have two amazing daughters and one incredible son. The Wife became an early-childhood educator, quitting a high-paying para-legal job in the 90s to attend UCLA. While pregnant with The Oldest!
I read all the books she brought home, so I could at least be consistent with her. We joke that she learned to be a good parent because she got to practice on me first!
All that to say that this is straight up bragging on the awesome recent accomplishments of The Daughters.
The Oldest just accepted an offer to earn her Masters Degree at NYU. The Bobcats wear violet and white and have a long and storied history. It seems a natural choice, given that she graduated from another 100-plus-year-old-institution - Whittier College - for her Bachelors.
And just like that, less than two years after coming home from her Peace Corps service in Guatemala, she will be gone again. Living her greatest life so far! I am so proud of her.
And now The Youngest. Who turns 21 next month. That went by quick. She plays softball. I think “play softball” is an oxymoron. She has had broken bones, bleeding wounds, bitter defeat and unbelievable wins. She has “played” this game for over 12 years.
It has made her who she is. And it changed me into who I am now. But that is another story.
Her team, the Saints, won their first conference championship. And are headed into their first NCAA Championship. Their first game is today at 4 pm EST. If you are interested, the link has additional links to the Live Stream.

I thank God for my kids, and am very blessed that they call me Dad.
