When the compass spins, sailors seek the spirit of sovranty. Whether sailing the seas, cruising through clouds, or driving a diesel, freedom is symbolized by action and adventure. Forward movement is powered by kinetic energy; action is initiated by push or pull. Inertia overcome by force. Destination deciphered by determination.
Each one of us is in charge of our OWN designation. Freedom is not relegated to the sailor, the pilot, or the trucker. It’s ours to claim. And ours alone to lose.

In the meantime, it’s sobering to realize CSW has been sailing since 12/30/20. We just clicked four years of Sunday posts and don’t see any rough seas ahead. Substack has a great way of inducing metric-anxiety or -envy or -whatever, but since CSW is a mere SEVEN SUBSCRIBERS from hitting 500, the cabin-boy suggested we replay the best of.
