So I made this tonight, thinking about how this will go down. Not just my dinner, but the whole thing. We gotta be here for a reason.
Trader Joe’s was Grandpa Smitty’s favorite market. He hated to shop, but TJ’s was not that. It was exploring. They have great chopped mire poix and very simple yet complex sauces. And they’re healthy. Somewhat enough.
Chicken Chickpea Masala. Very tasty. This space is not meant for in-depth. Just a glance. A few bullet-points to the head to put me out of my misery. Let’s let it marinate. Or ripen.
Word Vomit or Word Salad?
Do words have value? I keep hearing the term word-salad. Especially to describe our Vice-President’s attempts at public speaking. But then, this attack on the messenger has been around forever. I’m not sure I want to eat that salad. Kamala Harris transcript
The Activities of the Café de Monk is what happens when TV remote sucks. I pushed 23 for Happy Days (stay tuned for an announcement) and 233 came on. 233 is NKO Japan TV and they had a profile of this monk, who said this “I hope the people we serve haven’ t paid us more attention than we deserve.” And a bunch of other cool profound words strung together sensibly. Not word-vomit for sure.
Substack has an app for that. I mean for me! Just what you always wanted, huh? Click the link and I can ride along in your pocket. Or wherever you carry your phone. I know. Straight to the gutter!
My hierarchy of elements places Food and Music at the top. Sadly, I realized that while I make and eat amazing fantastic and out of this world food, nobody knows if they cannot see, smell or taste it. Ok, I have documented a few dozen meals and meal preps to get me to a starting place to show my friends here. Stay tuned.
Music. Cannot be separated from my life. Another announcement is forthcoming. I’m such a tease tonight. Looking for a happy ending, aren’t you? I have an opportunity to write in a professional realm about music. I suppose compared to a vanity realm writing about music.
I am on Chapter 3 of Age of Reason by Jean Paul Sartre. It is a wordsmith’s gold mine. His turn of phrase and stark vividness is aspirational. That link is a free download of the book. Well worth the time.
Check out these Substack platforms. We are a community. I believe my community would love to journey into new communities.

What Is There?
We are here. That’s what. And we should enjoy the time together. Of course, mindful of the tragedy and those it has befallen. Bu life is for the living. And this is the only one we got.
a toast for the dead. but a drink for the living
